Kelly Smith Joins the Quilting Weekly Staff

Do you know the "Red headed Quilter"? Or how about "The National Quilting Examiner"? Kelly Smith is the name behind these curtains and much more!  She is one busy lady, but not too busy to teach the lucky few who are smart enough to register for her new class!

Kelly Smith has agreed to teach a fun class for Quilting Weekly, which will incorporate piecing and applique in one class! I cannot tell you much about her project just yet, but I will tell you it is expected to release in March.  (So sign up for our newsletter using the convenient form at the top of this blog so you don't miss out on when her class releases).

Kelly Smith is the author of Open Your Heart with Quilting: Mastering Life Through Love of the Patches (Dreamtime Publishing 2008). The book helps readers uncover new aspects of an already enjoyable pastime, and helps novice quilters understand that quilting is an attainable hobby. “Quilting helps you connect with your family and your community and carry on traditions of the past,” Kelly says. “Quilting can help you heal from illness or grief, explore your creativity, and deepen your spiritual connection to the universe.”

She is the National Quilting Examiner for Examiner.com (http://www.examiner.com/x-858-Quilting-Examiner), where she writes about classes, retreats, tools, techniques, and inspiration. She also reviews new books and interviews quilters. In November 2008, Kelly had an article, Let's Play, published in Quilter’s Home magazine.

Here are a few of the places you can find Kelly talking about quilting:
