Just a quick note to tell you about 2 very exciting new patterns coming to Quilting Weekly in just a few days!

That's right, you asked for them, and now here they are:

We have a new Diagonal BOM (block of the month) pattern that was created by Thea McCurry. This pattern will add spice to any of your quilting projects. Learn a new diagonal block pattern each month and at the end of the 12 months you will have a very stunning diagonal sampler. Or you might just want to make several smaller quilts with each of the blocks. The choice is your, but you can only purchase this pattern if you are a member of Quilting Weekly........so sign up today and I will send you a personal note telling you when it's ready. The Diagonal BOM will sell for only $6.00 per month.

If you really like BOM patterns, and want an even bigger challenge, then the Mystery BOM pattern by Kelly Smith will be right up your alley. This pattern combines the surprise of a mystery quilt with all the fun of a traditional BOM pattern.  But wait it gets even better........

Each month you will receive your surprise block pattern, which will include a pieced block, an applique version of that block, and a mini project to use those blocks in! That's right you will get 24 blocks, 12 mini projects and at the end of the 12 months you will get a full 24 block sampler quilt!!

What a bargain for only $27.00 a month. That just might too much excitement for that low price. Get in on this one before my sanity returns. I might just have to raise the price on this one. It is so full of quality content that it really could sell for $37 or more!

Sign up is easy, fill in the form at the top of this page to get on my mailing list. Once these are open for sign ups you will be notified by email. If you are already on my mailing list there is nothing to do now, but wait patiently for their release.

Talk to you in a few days!

Mystery Quilt & Block of the Month in one class!

Do you love Block of the Month projects? How about Mystery Quilts? If you answered yes to one or both of these questions, then I have a fantastic project lined up for you!

Kelly Smith (aka The Redheaded quilter from the Quilting Examiner) has brought these two loves together in one fantastic bundle of mini classes. I am at a loss for how to describe this one, as it is in a category all its own. It is a Mystery Quilt, It is a BOM, each month will contain a pieced block, an appliqué block and it includes 12 mini projects all in one class!

At Quilting Weekly our lessons (aka classes) are usually written around 1 project, although we do have a few classes that contain multiple projects. Each class has detailed instructions; we include lots of photos and even videos in some cases. Our goal is to leave nothing to chance and to insure your success in quilting. Kelly Smith has not only met our goal, she has exceeded it!

Kelly has designed a block of the month pattern that will include a pieced block, an appliqué version of that block, and then put in a mini project to use those blocks in. She is going to do this for all 12 blocks. So by the end of the year, you will have 12 separate projects and a full sampler quilt too! And if that weren’t enough she is going to add a twist this project. She is going to do this a Mystery Quilt Sampler, which means you won’t see all 12 blocks until the end of the project. That will be like getting a surprise block and pattern each and every month for a full year. 12 months of surprises! I can hardly contain my excitement for what she has created.

Kelly is a published author of Open Your Heart with Quilting. With her experience in writing and her knowledge and experience with quilting, you know her lessons are well written and easy to follow. She has left nothing to chance. To say I was impressed with the lessons would be an understatement. In fact I will personally guarantee you will love this Mystery Block of the Month or I will refund your money, no questions asked! That’s how impressed I am! (Well ok you got me, that’s our guarantee on all of our classes)So seriously, give this one a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Class is expected to open mid April, 2010. If you are not on our mailing list yet, you need to be to get advanced notice of when you can sign up for this class. Simply fill out the form at the top of this page to join my mailing list.

Double Wedding Ring Quilt Pattern

Double Wedding Ring Quilt Pattern
by Kathy Hansen of Quilting Weekly

Our first addition of 2010 teacher Kathy Hansen, has just put the finishing touches on her first class for Quilting Weekly.  We are so excited to be able to finally announce her class!

Double Wedding Ring Quilts are so romantic and are quilts of great comfort and joy.  Many of us can relate personally to these quilts as they are quilts we grew up with which were made by our mothers or grandmothers.  Who knows you might have even received one on your wedding day!

Either way, these are time honored traditional quilts that become family heirlooms.  Isn't it about time you learn how to make one of you own to pass onto your children?

Many of the more adventurous quilters might choose to make this pattern using pieced rings, (which is traditionally how it is made) but as you can see in this photo, Kathy works with solid rings making this the perfect Double Wedding Ring Quilt Pattern to start with.

This pattern will release the first week of February, so if you are not a member at Quilting Weekly you will not be able to purchase this class or get notice of when registrations will start.  I suggest you fill in the form at the top of the page so that you don't miss out on this or any of our other new classes/patterns/and workshops.

Update:     The Double Wedding Ring Quilt Pattern released today, February 3, 2010. Registration has started! Be sure to pick up your copy.

New Teachers Pages Have Been Added as well.
I just wanted to let you know we have added 3 new teachers pages to the site, so that you can get to know more about them before their classes or workshops open up.

Take a Look  see Who's New!
Don't forget to read about our other lovely teachers while you are there.  And you might want to check out the forum and join our February UFO Challenge.  You could win a free class, maybe even the Double Wedding Ring Quilt Pattern if you are really lucky!
